Welcome to MHA

Macclenny Housing Authority and the Baker County Housing Assistance Program are presently completely separate, federally funded, but locally operated rental assistance programs established by U.S. HUD for qualifying low income families.

MHA is conventional public housing commonly known as “the projects”, BCHAP is the housing choice voucher program generally known as section 8. The application process is the same for each program and at the conclusion of the process and at your discretion you may be placed on either or both waiting lists. More program detail is available on the link menu to the right.

Our goal regardless of the program involved is to provide decent, safe and affordable rental housing for eligible families. Please be aware that rental assistance is NOT AN ENTITLEMENT. It is a privilege maintained by responsible behaviors.
